Meet the Team

Dale Shortt
Dale Shortt, Owner, President and Founder of D&D; has never known a life outside the remodeling and construction industries. While attending Langley High School in McLean, Virginia, he took a job as a Technician/Installer and began to learn the business from the ground up. Equipped with that knowledge, he soon decided to go into business for himself as a sub-contractor. A few years later, D&D; Siding and Roofing Specialists was born. Dale's commitment to his employees and his customers, as well as his commitment to combining truly personalized service with superior craftsmanship, has earned D&D; a reputation as an exceptional place to work. Dale, too, has a reputation as a man that can be trusted to get the job done.

Carolyn Shortt
Carolyn Shortt, Co-Owner and Vice President of D&D; also attended Langley High School, and after graduating a year early went on to Old Dominion University in Norfolk Virginia where she finished with a Finance degree in 1988. She has been the administrative lynchpin for D&D; since she and Dale were married in 1991.

Daniel Malsch
Dale & Carolyn's son-in-law Daniel joined D&D full time. in the fall of 2018. Daniel and their daughter Taylor married in September 2018. He is learning the business from the ground up and we are excited to have him as a valuable member of our team.

Our Office staff

Everyone knows that it's those in the office that really keep the company together and moving. Office Manager Jennifer Brewer joined D&D Inc's team in July 2018. She's always been in an administrative role since graduating from Loudoun Valley High School in 1991. Jennifer brings that experience with a variety of other office technology skills to D&D - if it happens in the office, she's the one to handle it.

Our Roofing Crew

Juan Servin and his crew have been with D&D; for over 6 years now. Juan is quick to smile, but on the roof he's no-nonsense and gets the job done right and on time, every time.

Our Siding Crews

Mr. Dong Han: Master Technician Mr. Han and his crew have been with D&D for so long they are like members of the family. They are on the job all day, every day and take extreme pride in the details of their work. When they finish a job at your home you will feel like they are members of your family as well.

Our Carpenters

Isidro Fernandez and Wilson Rivera
Isidro and Wilson are brothers-in-law that have both worked for D&D; for over 9 years. They are not only excellent carpenters but jacks of all trades as well. Working under the direct supervision of Dale Shortt the owner, they handle all of our additions, decks, patios, kitchens, bathrooms, basements and much more. Two harder working and nicer guys you will never find.

We strongly believe our focus on people is what distinguishes D&D; from others in the industry. Therefore, whenever anyone asks what makes us different or better than the next guy, we always point to our people. Our people make us what we are. We are privileged to have them here would be nothing without them.
